It's a boy!!!

I'd planned on posting this the other day, but I just have slacked off until now.  Slap me!  Anyways, as the title of the post says:  It's a boy!  We had our ultrasound on October 1, and it was lots of fun!  It was really interesting to feel the little guy kick (and he didn't sit still the whole time!!!) and to see him kick at the same time.  Definitely a weird thing, but it was so neat.  Got a cute view of his little nose and lips for a minute, got some fun pictures, and now we can start preparing to put up lots of blue things.

Michael was really good through the ultrasound.  He's never seen an ultrasound before let alone knowing what one is, but as soon as she put the ultrasound thingy (?) on my tummy he started saying "Baby."  Now we get to try to figure out how to make him understand he's going to have a little brother.  Haha!

Haven't got any names yet.  We've been going through boy's names for a couple of weeks but we haven't come across anything that has stuck yet.  But we've got plenty of time.  Anyways, that's it for now.  Everything looks good with the baby, and Troy and Michael are doing well!  Mom's a whiner, but doing well also.  ;)

Okay, okay.....so it's been a little too long since I posted last. I'm a slacker, what can I say? Things have been pretty ordinary around here. Been going to school, raising Michael, so on and so forth.

Troy got a new toy, so a couple of weeks ago we went out shooting with Beth, Jeff and Garrett, and it was pretty fun. We both got to shoot off a few rounds (only took me one to be done), and I have to admit as bad as my arms and shoulder hurt after, it wasn't too bad. I'm not much of a shot, but it's entertaining either way. Troy did a great job, shooting bottles of water out of the sky! Troy showed Michael how to break clay pigeons over his head...probably not the smartest thing, but Michael didn't stop doing it until all the pigeons were broken. I thought poor Beth was gonna have some problems from laughing so hard!

Michael and I went to the store with his Grandma this past Friday, and Grandma was nice enough to buy him a bowl for some goldfish.  We brought those home and got them all set up in their new little home, and Michael LOVES them!  Sadly, they aren't all alive to this day, but there are still three left, and so far they're doing well.  Michael helps me feed them every morning and he seems to think it's pretty funny everytime.  Once in a while he actually gets the fish food in the bowl, even.  Haha!  I'm not too sure what Dad thought about us bringing home some fish, but he hasn't really seemed to HATE it, so it must be okay.

I am now 19-1/2 weeks along.  Baby Hoskins has been moving around for a couple of weeks now, but he/she has been REALLY active for the past couple of days.  Tomorrow is a big day for us all because we are going in for my ultrasound to find out if we're buying baby stuff in blue or pink.  We're taking Michael with us, and we're going to start trying really hard to make him understand there's a baby in Mommy's tummy.  We've got a really cute way to tell everyone what we're having, and Troy's been working pretty hard to make it as cute as possible and he's been doing a great job.  We're super excited!  We'll definitely be updating tomorrow.

Other than that, nothing's really changed.  The weather is cooling off so that's DEFINITELY a nice thing!  We're excited to get Michael all ready for Halloween, and then it's on to Christmas shopping.  As a matter of fact, we've already been doing a little bit of Christmas shopping.  We're gonna try really hard to get it all done early so when all of the sick people are out shopping, we're going to be snuggled up all safe and disease-free at home.  We'll only need to go shopping for the obvious essentials.  Wahoo!!!

Tune in tomorrow to find out if we're getting pink or blue!

Hello There!

I've been bored and seem to find myself reading several different blogs, and Troy decided maybe it was time we started one of our own. So here goes nothing... ;)

After a long, challenging summer, Troy and I just started a new semester at college. Troy goes full-time and he will soon be able to start his 2-year program to get into teaching. He's awesome! He's always busy whether it's with school, work, family stuff, etc. That boy's always got something going on, and he's really good about keeping on his toes and making sure stuff gets done. He's been really good about taking care of Michael and I all summer long, and I love and appreciate him more than he could ever know!

I, on the other hand, am much more laid-back ...probably a little more than I SHOULD be. Haha! I was originally taking two classes this summer, but that's all changed and now I'm taking only a sign-language class that I didn't originally plan on taking. It's okay, though. It will give me plenty of time to focus on getting Michael potty-trained and I'll be able to spend a little bit more one-on-one time with him before we bring Baby Hoskins #2 into the world.

Michael has been getting bigger and bigger, and smarter, every day. He knows his colors (for the most part), shapes, the ABC's, he can count from 1-20 (he skips a few but he's got the idea down.), and so many other things. He's definitely a 3-year-old when it comes to his attitude lately. He is a VERY good kid, but he does have his times as we all do. But he is the light of our lives, and we couldn't ask for a better kid. :)

We haven't been able to find out what Baby Hoskins #2 is yet. We are just ecstatic at this point to hear a heartbeat every day and to know that things are going well with this pregnancy thus far. I will be 15 weeks along on Sunday, and have an appointment this next week. And then we get to find out what we're having at the next one, and I don't know who's more excited...Troy and I, or my Mom! Haha!

All in all, that's where we stand at this point. Just happy to be around, glad to be through the first week of school already, and thankful for good friends and family who help us out so much. We love you all, and appreciate everything that everyone in our lives does for us!
